Why do I lie?
As I lay here with the Smurfs building away in my head, I ask myself that. Every year, I say "I'm not going to get crazy like last Halloween!", but once again I went into the debauchery of the San Diego Halloween scene...and got lost. I resurfaced this morning battered, bruised and hung over. What started a "few drinks" with friends descended into rabble-rousing, smelly cabs from bar to bar and party to party and lastly, nothing but lint in my pocket. And I can only guess we would have spent the lint if we could.
I was asked to reprise my famous role as the dread pirate, Black Ass. (That's meant to be funny people, so laugh. I can't lest I create an earthquake in Smurf-ville.). On the way to conquering the high seas of the Gaslamp district, my "posse" grew to include a Vulcan, 4 Korean Kitty-Kats enjoying their first Halloween, 1 bunny wabbit, 1 gorilla (sans mist), 1 flapper and the occasional hangers on who just went with us for part of the journey and disembarked whenever they felt the occasion. Who knew my pirate ship would turn into a Carnival cruise?
Was it worth it? Probably. Will I suffer my entire Saturday for this one night? Definitely. Will I do it again? Never!! Well, not until next year anyway ;-)

What to say on my first day???
Hello
My name is Ray. As I right this first draft, my Philadelphia Phillies have just won Philadelphia's first major championship in 25 years -exactly 100 sports seasons. Wow!! Its been a long time coming...I guess I now know the satisfaction felt by so many Boston sports fans after their teams broke through. Its a good feeling? Although now you ask yourself, what will Philly fans have to be pissed off about now. I think they enjoy being angry. Any of you who have ever attended a sporting event in Philly know what I mean.
This is my first blog so let me tell you a bit about myself. I'm 37 and living in sunny San Diego. Despite what many people believe, it can get quite dull having sunny weather all the time. I actually miss a little rain now and again. I work for Northrop Grumman supporting IT Asset Management (both SW and HW) on the State and local government level. I've been with NG for two years now. Prior to that, I was working in Business Development for a company called Wonderware -that's ware as in software. They do not make the Wonderbra.
I'm am in the last year of my Master's program and Boston University (yeah). No offense, but this grind of work and school is starting to wear me out. This is class number 8 for me in the Project Mgmt Master's. For those who are sharing this class with me, I wish you the best of luck. For those who generally read blogs and stumbled on mine. Well, thanks for reading and tune in soon. I expect this won't be my last ;-)
Thanks
Ray
